Welcome to Wildwood Croft, Arran
Wildwood Croft is a family-run smallholding on the Isle of Arran.
We offer off-grid, sustainable stays that blend comfort with tranquillity. We are a working croft, and the eco-tourism we offer directly supports the care of the land, from restoring woodland and supporting wildlife to improving access paths and access across the site.
Staying here is both a place to rest and a quiet way to contribute, allowing the croft to grow gently and responsibly. We currently have The Treehouse Cabin and, soon to follow, a gorgeous handcrafted yurt. Separated by woodland and streams, each looks out over the Clyde and Holy Isle.
The Treehouse Cabin
Experience off-grid living in our sustainably built Treehouse Cabin.
Raised among the trees overlooking Holy Isle, our off-grid treehouse cabin is handcrafted, using reclaimed materials wherever possible, combining natural character with modern comforts, including a hot shower, kitchenette, king-size bed, and wood-burning stove.
Wake to birdsong, sea views, and the fresh woodland and salty sea air. As evening falls, cosy up beside the fire, watch the rain drift across the sea, or gaze at the stars from your balcony.

Wildwood Croft was born from a a personal desire to live more sustainably and a desire to share the techniques and beauty of the natural world with others. As a smallholding of 40 acres on the 'sunny south' side of the Isle of Arran, Scotland, we are dedicated to providing unique stays that blend comfort, tranquility, and environmental responsibility.
Growing Wildwood Croft (Coming Soon)
Wildwood Croft is still growing.
Hidden away in its own private corner of the croft, we're creating a second place to stay: a handcrafted 16-foot yurt.
Rather than buying new, we were fortunate to find this beautiful yurt here on Arran, where it had reached the end of one chapter and was ready for another. Originally handcrafted by the family-run team at Highland Yurts using low-impact materials and traditional techniques, it reflects the same ethos that guides everything we create at Wildwood Croft.
When it came time to give the yurt its new home, the Highland Yurts team returned to Arran to raise it alongside our family and friends. The final step was lifting the timber crown—the circular centre ring that holds the roof together—into place. It was a special moment, completing the structure and marking the beginning of the yurt's next chapter at Wildwood Croft.
Now nestled within a naturally open space framed by mature trees, alder, rowan and gorse, the yurt will offer complete privacy, panoramic views across the sea to Holy Isle, and another peaceful place to slow down and reconnect with nature.
Planned features
- Handcrafted 16-foot yurt with a wood-burning stove
- A separate covered outdoor kitchen and dining area with large glass panels, providing shelter from the weather while making the most of the views
- An outdoor bathroom with a hot shower and bath, enclosed within its own timber hut
- A private fire pit for evenings beneath Arran's dark skies
Like everything at Wildwood Croft, this space is taking shape thoughtfully and at a gentle pace, working with the landscape rather than trying to change it. We're looking forward to sharing its progress and, in time, welcoming guests to another place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and leave feeling just a little more restored than when they arrived.
